Course information

The Medical Peace Work online course is a self-running and multi-media e-learning tool. The content is presented in 7 modules, divided into 21 chapters. Each chapter consists of the following components:

  • textbook lessons to help you acquire deeper knowledge
  • standardized questions which test if you have reached the lessons' objectives
  • problem-based e-learning case which apply the theory you have learnt in the textbook lessons to practical examples.

Estimated workload for one chapter is about 2-3 hours.

Prerequisites

As the course includes sound and film material a good broadband internet connection is necessary. Alternatively, you could download the textbook and e-learning cases to your hard disc and go through them off-line. If that is not possible, we recommend you obtain our CD-ROM which contains both the textbook and e-learning cases. Please have a loudspeaker or headset ready before you enter the course.

How to start

The first step is to register at the course platform and to enroll into the seven modules. You will then be able to access the complete course, track your progress, participate in the forums, and receive a course certificate. If you only want to have a look into the textbook lessons and the e-learning cases, you can enter without registering. All content, except the standardized questions, is open for browsing without logging in.

Progress

Once you are registered and enrolled, you can go through each of the seven modules by pressing the "next"-arrow. When you interrupt a login session, the system will remember where you stopped. At your next login you can continue from the position at which you left off.

As the seven modules are interlinked we recommend to do them consecutively. It is, however, also possible to go through the textbook lessons, standardized questions and e-learning cases in a self-selected order.

Certificate

When you have completed the course and have achieved an approved score of correct answers in the standardized questions, you can receive a Medical Peace Work course certificate by e-mail.
